They say that the sea is home to thousands of living things still undiscovered. But, it turns out that it’s not just the living things that are still kept hidden in the depths of the sea but also non-living things.
We are referring to this literal “letter in a bottle” that was discovered by a woman diver. In a post shared via the Facebook page, Nautical North Family Adventures, a woman is seen holding up a small green bottle while half of her body is submerged in the sea.
It turns out that the woman in the photo was out diving when she came across the green bottle which prompted her interest. She picked it up and brought it to their boat.
To her surprise, when she opened the bottle, she found a small piece of paper neatly folded inside it. The small piece of paper contains the note, “Will the person who finds this bottle return this paper to George Marrow Cheboygan Michigan and tell where it was found.”
What’s even more surprising is that the note came with a date, which was November 1926. That is roughly 95 years ago.
But, almost one century that passed did not let people on Facebook share their “connection” to the last names mentioned in the letter. Well, who knows? We might still probably locate George’s family and somehow return that letter to them. If we can, that will surely be an amazing feat.
