This woman is said to bear 69 children from 16 twins, 7 triplets, and 4 quadruplets

We already know that bearing a child is both a blessing and a struggle for a woman. A blessing because of the fact that another life is flourishing inside the womb and a struggle because of the possible complications the pregnancy may bring to a mom-to-be.

Despite this, the feeling of fulfillment that parents can have upon setting their eyes on their newborn baby is still priceless that no amount of struggle can overpower it.

As for this mom from Russia, she managed to give birth to a total of 69 babies throughout her lifetime!

This woman we are talking about is Valentina Vassilyev, wife of a Russian peasant named Feodor Vassilyev. According to a Facebook post by Historical Photos, Valentina lived for 76 long years.

Between the years 1725 and 1765 were her ‘fruitful’ years. It was during these years when she gave birth to her babies. The 69 babies were composed of 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets. 67 of these children survived infancy and one set of twins, unfortunately, lost their lives.

Some sources cited that it is medically and statistically unlikely that this could happen.

In her feature story on the website of Guinness World Records, if the accounts about her are true,  Mrs. Vassilyev could have had a genetic predisposition to hyper-ovulate (release multiple eggs in one cycle), which significantly increased her chance of having twins or multiple children.

Her husband, however, is said to have a second wife who gave him another 18 children, 6 twins, and 2 triplets. In total, Mr. Vassilyev was a father of 87 children.
