There is a lot of interesting series and movies that viewers can choose from upon browsing on the popular video streaming app, Netflix. Over the years, there have been several shows that have captured the interest of many people because of their captivating plot and interesting characters.
One of these shows is Queen’s Gambit. The story is all about a girl named Elizabeth Harmon who happens to be an orphan after meeting a car accident that took the life of her mom. She is then escorted to an orphanage where she meets the maintenance guy, Mr. Shaibel who teaches her the game of chess.
Soon, Beth finds herself competing with the best chess players in the world and proving to them that the game can also be ruled by women. That she can even defeat them all.
Because of Anya Taylor-Joy’s convincing portrayal of her role, her face and hairstyle became quite famous that many try to copy it. Grace Borromeo Casitas, a Filipina from Malinao, Albay, is one of these few girls who is said to be a look-a-like of Anya.
So, while Casitas was having fun with her family during new year’s eve, they had this impromptu photoshoot in front of their food as she posed like the food were Chess pieces. Yep, just like how Elizabeth Harmon looked fierce in front of her beloved characters in the game that she poured her life into – Chess.
Casitas even had her hair styled just like Beth to complete her Queen Gambit’s inspired look and photoshoot which she calls, “Queen’s Gutom.”
Her friends and also other people who came across her post just can’t help but share a little laughter while scrolling through her photos.
According to News5, Casitas said that it was all just a coincidence. Although there were several people who said that she indeed looks just like the lead actress from the series, she really did not expect that their mini-photo shoot would turn out that way. Maybe it was their hunger for the food in front of them that drove them to do it.
Well, whatever the reason is behind this Queen’s Gutom, one thing we can say is Casitas and her siblings sure did a good job.
