2013 Miss International reveals she undergoes dialysis five times per week

Bea Santiago, 2013 crowned Miss International has always been vocal about her struggle with her health. In the past years, she often updates her social media accounts with photos of herself during her sessions with doctors.

In her most recent Instagram post, she shared an update on her health saying that this time, she undergoes dialysis five times per week. Bea posted a photo of herself at the Toronto General Hospital in Canada.

According to GMA News, Bea further elaborated on her condition saying that she has been having a hard time with her protein intake, and now has low phosphate, low hemoglobin, and having muscle aches.

Bea, who has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease back in 2018 has continuously shared her journey with her fans via her social media pages.

She often posts photos of herself, along with the description of her struggles and triumphs while continuing her fight against the illness. Her family and fans are also in constant support of Bea to give her strength in this difficult fight she is facing.

Her doctors and nutritionists recommended that she do so and after two months, she now calls herself a “pescatarian on the weekends and vegetarian on weekdays.”

The 30-year-old Filipina Beauty Queen also said that she is “still recommending to all to live by a plant-based diet just make sure u eat proper nutrition.”
