Flood water in Pakil, Laguna looks very clean

After the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses, many areas in the Philippines were left with a very deep flood. In most areas, the flood water is muddy brown in color and there is also a lot of waste floating along with the flood.

But, that is not the case in the municipality of Pakil, Laguna. Photos show that the floodwater in the area consists of crystal clear water! After the photos became viral online, there were many people who were asking if this is really clean water, or was there a certain phenomenon that caused the water to be of this color?

Good thing Mayor Vince Soriano, the Mayor of Pakil was generous enough to explain what really happened in their town.

Via a Facebook post, he shared that the said photos were taken at a huge river in Barangay Burgos of the said town. He then affirmed that it is true that the river is very clean because the water flowing in it is from Turumba Spring Resort. This resort is a declared fish sanctuary in their town.

Through his post, he also thanked a resident of their town named Lorraine Atanzo for posting photos of the flood which somehow eased the tension that a lot of Filipinos are feeling now in the midst of this disaster.

The mayor also had a little reminder for his constituents that the big fishes who were carried by the flood can now be fished but those who are still within the premises of the river are still protected. Anyone who attempts to fish in there will still be subjected to fines.
