A lot of Filipinos risk being away from their loved ones in order to provide them with a better life by working abroad. Filipinos who work overseas are known for being hard-working which is why many employers prefer to have Filipinos work for them and even consider these workers as part of their family too.
That is exactly what happened with this lucky Filipina who was well-loved by her employers which turns out to be the family of the famous singer, Michael Buble.
To fulfill his grandfather’s dying wish, Michael went out of his way to give the Filipina the house his grandfather once lived in.
According to PhilNews, Minette, the domestic helper who worked for the family of Michael’s granddad for many years was considered not just a worker but an essential part of their family.
Before he died, Michael’s granddad had nothing but the welfare of Minette in mind. So, as his way of ensuring his granddad will be happy even in the afterlife, Michael stepped up and made the effort to find someone to renovate his granddad’s home in Canada.
Michael says that by giving Minette the home, he could help lessen her burden as she still pays rent and tries to earn money for her family back in the Philippines.
Michael also disclosed that the Pinay OFW sends most of her salary to her family back home and only leaves a little for herself and for her living expenses. So, it sure is a big load off her chest knowing that she now has a home to live in.
Despite having fond memories of the house, Michael still chose to give it to Minette as it was what his grandfather wished for.
