This market in Indonesia sells meats of bats, snakes, dogs, cats, and many more

In conventional markets, there are only three types of meat that are sold. These include pork, beef, and chicken but, in this unusual market in Indonesia, people simply sell any type of animal meat that can them a profit.

In a video uploaded by the Youtube channel, Best Ever Food Review Show, viewers are first warned that what they are about to see is something they rarely get to watch and the scenes about to show up are not for the faint-hearted.

Then, they start their journey into Tomohon Market in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Upon entering, they saw that the displayed items have “tails” which later turned out that these are in fact, rats.

The rats are already roasted, no longer have internal organs, and it was as if the animals are cooked in such a way that they turn out crisp in the end.

A few steps further into the market and everyone will see the many types of meat the vendors sell. From bats, cats, dogs, wild boars, and even snakes!

As for the bats, their wings are being clipped so that only the body remains. The wings are then burned so that their fur will be removed.

As for the dogs and wild boar, buyers are advised to tale a specific part of the animal and are not sold in portions of kilograms just like how the usual meat trade is across the globe.

As for the snakes, its internal organs are already removed and anyone can just buy portions of it depending on their family’s need.

When one seller was asked, he revealed that they sell all types of meat in this market as their place is abundant with many animals which they only catch in the wild. Agriculture is also scarce in the area which explains their huge meat consumption.
