Restaurants give out free food to hospital staff during the COVID-19 outbreak

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many disappointing moments that showed the cruelty of some people. Despite this, there are still faint glimmers of hope that prove that there is still hope in humanity.

Just like in this extraordinary effort done by restaurants and fast-food chains to help, even in their little way the front liners at hospitals.

In their Facebook account, News5 shared photos taken by Vincent Juanta which features food packs composed of tocilog and Lechon kawali prepared by the Kanto Freestyle group. What comes along with the food packs are special notes which express their thanks for the sacrifice and dedication of the healthcare front liners to ensure the safety of the people.

The message from Zark’s Burger reads: “Hats off to all our Filipino frontline healthcare providers who are working hard through these challenging times. We sent burgers to nearby hospitals as a way to thank them for tirelessly and selflessly ensuring everyone’s safety amid COVID-19. Thank you all for your service. Saludo kami sa inyo, Zarkada! Be safe. Let’s help one another.  This too shall pass! #WereAllinThisTogether”

What Kanto Freestyle and Zark’s burger did is an example of what unity can do amidst the crisis we are going through. Instead of pointing fingers towards another person or entity, what we need is unity so that all of us can pass through this tough time.
