River of red water leaks from the ground after 6.8 magnitude earthquake hits Turkey

Last January 24, the 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey which resulted in a bizarre picture of bloody-red water flowing from across the ground.

Many theories tried to explain the logic behind the strange phenomenon as the exact cause is not yet determined.

One of the speculations surfaced from Reddit. Commenters theorized that the red-colored water could be a dye that’s been mixed into the water supply to help trace leaks while skeptics find it illogical to use red dye when you could have used a brighter color like green and yellow.

Another explanation sourced the red clay from beneath a surface being mixed with a water source and a mishap from a nearby slaughterhouse.

Along with various interpretations trying to prove a logical reason behind the existence of such a phenomenon, one distinctive commenter said: “I think the explanation that the landmass that comprises Turkey is… a thin dirt covering, beneath which slumbers an ancient beast, is a much more logical explanation.”

However, the majority of these theories cited the Book of Revelation which counts down the signs of the end times.

While many pointed out some spiritual explanations from the Bible, someone said that Turkey might just be floating on a lake of wine.

Behind those speculations, the only facts contained in this matter is that the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 9 miles and centered near the district of Sivrice in Turkey’s eastern Elazig province.

Soon after the initial quake, the province was shaken further by a series aftershocks ranging from between a magnitude 5.4 to 3.3.
