Man arrested after paying a burger to a police officer that pretended to be a hooker

Prostitution is illegal. It is never considered just “okay” for anyone to offer, agree to, or engage in any type of sexual activity for a huge amount of compensation as quoted from Findlaw and the situation is only far worse when the compensation offered is a hamburger – specifically in the case of this man who got arrested for doing just that.

According to 9gag, a man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to pay an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute with a hamburger.

The man was later identified as 36-year-old Dominic Calderon. According to the report, he was riding his bicycle on Central Avenue in Albuquerque on the evening of January 28, 2020, when he spotted the female officer.

Without even a moment of hesitation, he approached the lady and asked how much does she charge for a “sexual encounter.” After a little talking, the two agreed on a price. Shortly after, Calderon said that he cannot pay the price upfront because he still won’t receive his salary until Jan. 31, 2020.

It was then that the officer saw Calderon was carrying a bag from a popular burger chain and asked him what was inside. He says it was a hamburger. At that time, the officer proposed that the burger can be the compensation for the services she is about to provide. Calderon giddily agreed without knowing it will be his downfall.

At that moment, he was arrested for patronizing a prostitute, which carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $500 fine. The burger was seized and gathered it as part of their evidence.

Then, officers found out that Calderon was in fact a sex offender but is now on probation. His probation was immediately revoked and he was sent to jail to pay for all his wrongdoings.
