While on the road, no one can predict the accidents that might occur. This is why everyone is always reminded to take extra precautionary measures so that the safety of everyone can be ensured. These precautions include wearing your seatbelt, following the traffic signs and maintaining the advised speed.
According to World Health Organization, approximately 1.35 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes and road traffic injuries are the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 5-29 years. This family is one of those in the stats that was sadly involved in a car accident.
According to Buzz Nick, an SUV was driving along I-76 near Buckley Road in Brighton, Colorado when a tire suddenly blew out. Because of the sudden situation, the dad who was driving the car lost his control and the car veered off to the right side of the road. The car rolled several times and later went to a stop.
Unfortunately, five of the people inside the car were not wearing seat belts and all five of those family members were thrown from the vehicle. Sadly, the father who was behind the wheel passed away at the scene, while the mother and three other children were injured. The children ranged from an infant up to five years old.
But on the brighter side, one child who was left uninjured even after the accident. She was photographed as being comforted by a police officer who was among the ones who came to the scene. The police in the photo is Officer Nick Struck who says that every time he goes on a rescue mission, he always tries to comfort the victims especially the children who are clueless about what is happening around them.
Struck who also has a daughter sang “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” to the poor girl to make her feel at ease.
It sure is refreshing to know that even in a chaotic situation like this one, there are still people with a genuine heart who are willing to help.
