Heart-melting moment shows 53-year-old son with down syndrome reunites with father after being apart for a week for the first time

Down Syndrome is a condition where a person experiences physical growth delays, characteristic facial features, and mild to moderate intellectual disability. The average IQ of a young adult with Down syndrome is 50, equivalent to the mental ability of an 8 or 9-year-old child.

People with Down Syndrome are often discriminated by others without knowing that they are the ones who need love and understanding from the people around them.

Despite this, it is noticeable that people with Down syndrome tend to be happier and sweeter towards others. That is exactly what is proven by this particular 53-year-old man with down syndrome when he reunited with his father. Their encounter was recorded in a video, was uploaded by a Facebook user named Bobby Schuller and has managed to melt thousands of hearts on social media.

In the first part of the video, the 53-year-old man can be seen calmly going down the escalator. But when he sees his 88-year-old father, he suddenly smiles and his face showed that he was very happy to see his father. He immediately runs to his father and hugs him tight, as he gave him dozens of kisses. His father, on the other hand, was equally happy to see his son and gave him hugs and kisses as well. The father then asks his son, “Did you have a good time?”

The whole encounter was just too touching that netizens failed to hold back their tears as they watched it.

Many also expressed that they too can relate to the feelings shared by the father and son especially those who also have family members who are suffering from the same disability.
