The golden rule says: “Do unto others, what you want others to do unto you.” It may be and old belief but it is still a valid rule nowadays. After all, karma in this life really exists. So, in order for the good things to happen to you, you should also do good things for the people around you.
Just like in the case of this teacher from Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. Teacher Alvin P. Balbon found a wallet containing cash of PHP 30,000 inside. For anyone who could come across such a huge amount of cash, Balbon confessed that he was also tempted to just take the cash but his good side won.
He used social media as a means to get to the owner of the wallet. He posted on a local Facebook Marketplace group about what he was able to find and left his personal number for the owner to contact him.
In order to verify the owner, the teacher prepared a few questions about the details of what was inside the wallet.
Four days later, someone came forward and it was verified that he was really the owner of the wallet. He was really thankful to Balbon for returning his wallet as the money in it was reserved for his child’s tuition fee.
Just a day after that encounter, Balbon received a PHP 90,000 commission from a part-time job!
Indeed, good deeds are always rewarded in unexpected ways. For some, it may not come instantly but in the long run, those who are honest enough are always rewarded in surprising ways.
